Dr. Nwawka is an Assistant Attending Radiologist in the Radiology and Imaging Department at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, joining the department after completing a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging. Dr. Nwawka’s clinical practice includes all realms of musculoskeletal interventions and imaging including MRI, CT and ultrasound, with particular focus on nerve imaging and musculoskeletal ultrasound.

At the Hospital for Special Surgery, Dr. Nwawka serves as the Director of the Division of Ultrasound Research and is the principal investigator on numerous research projects with emphasis on nerve imaging, shearwave elastography and arthritis. She is the recipient of multiple research grants from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the GE/NBA Collaboration on Tendinopathy
